Fun Games you can Play on your next Zoom Meeting

Ever since the pandemic started, most offices have temporarily closed and moved into a work-from-home setup. Meaning, employees only get to work at home even yourself stuck in your condo in Bacoor, and they do not see their workmates often. Back then, when meetings or events occur usually it is held in boardrooms, at big tables in the office, in coffee shops, in function halls, or anywhere they can meet face to face. With the pandemic still ongoing, employees or workers have no choice but to stay at home to work and if they have to attend a meeting or an event. Their last resort is to set up a Zoom meeting instead and meet virtually.

For everyone’s information, Zoom is a cloud-based video communications app that allows people to set up virtual video and audio conferencing, webinars, live chats, screen-sharing, and other collaborative capabilities. It can be accessed on any device whether it may be Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, or Android.

In light of the COVID-19 crisis, this videoconferencing app has become the standard for connecting with others face-to-face virtually in both business and personal settings. Zoom is now the video communication platform of choice for federal governments, tech start-ups, religious communities, and of course regular people looking to chat — and even party — with their friends and family.

And as everyone knows, face-to-face is more interactive. Employees are more motivated to work in an office set up together with their workmates turned friends. In events as well, there’s food, live performances, and there is a chance to meet new people face to face. Now that with the pandemic still ongoing, how are people going to enjoy such happenings in a simple Zoom meeting? What can they do to make a virtual meeting fun just like a face-to-face event?

The Answer Is, to Play Games! Here Are Some of the Easiest Games You Can Play Through a Zoom Meeting:

Charades

The best game everyone can play on Zoom is the classic game called, “Charades” To play this game, split players into two teams. The host may use a random charades generator to find a word to act out in front of the camera or it can be a topic made by the host that is connected to the company. The main point of this game is that players cannot use spoken words to express the prompt, mute participants when it is the player’s turn to act. Whichever team can guess the most prompts correctly wins the game.

Guess the Drawing

To play this game, split players into two to four teams. Each team will have a representative who will draw. Then the host will be giving the word or phrase for the artist to draw on the screen using the “annotate” option on Zoom. For this, the screen sharer or host will have to present a blank canvas on the screen for the artist to draw and the artist’s team will try to guess the drawing in a span of a minute. Whoever guesses their own team’s drawing with the fastest time wins!

Counting Game

In this game called “Counting Game”, players may split into two to three teams. Each team must count from one to ten. If any players per team say a number simultaneously, then everyone will start over at one. The key to this game is to read body language and make eye contact. Plus, this is more challenging since this will be done virtually so everyone is encouraged to turn on their cameras. Whoever counts from one to ten the fastest without making mistakes by counting simultaneously wins!

Bingo

Yes! The classic game called, “BINGO” can also be played virtually in the comforts of your condo in Bacoor! To play Bingo games over Zoom, the host will distribute the game board and then encourage everyone to track their progress throughout the virtual conference call. The first player to complete a row gets a prize.

Bring Me

Bring Me is a classic game everyone plays at events! To play “Bring Me” on zoom, create a list of items or characteristics. Then challenge everyone to gather the items and show them on screen to earn points. For more interaction, encourage winners of each round to share stories about the item.

Read My Lips

To play “Read My Lips”, one participant will mute the mic, and then speak a word or phrase. The other players must try to guess the word or phrase correctly. Players have a minute or two to figure out the message. The turn-taker can also give clues by using the chat box, if necessary.

Spot The Difference

Like kids who love solving puzzles in newspapers, in this game called “Spot The Difference” the host or the screen sharer will show the audience two nearly identical illustrations and challenge viewers to find the variations.

To play this game, the group will split into teams of two to five people. The host or screen sharer will flash two nearly identical photos on the screen and whoever team with the most points wins! Players can play as many rounds as they like with different sets of photos.
