Enjoy the Condo Living during the Rainy Season

By: Mary Rose Arturo

As we welcome the ber month season, we start preparing for the big day aka ~ Christmas Day. We also need to consider that another guest came first, and that is the rainy season which we also need to be prepared for. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), we are still expecting around six to ten tropical cyclones this year spanning from September to December. Thus, no matter how used to we were in this rainy weather, it would not hurt to be prepared for it.

The common home problems that we usually encounter during this weather would be flooding and roof leaking. So if you are contemplating buying a condominium property, you probably asked the question “What’s it like living in a condo during a rainy day?”

This blog is perfect for you as we give you a glimpse of condo living during the rainy season and what else to prepare for the snuggle weather.

An advantage for all those condo owners, they do not necessarily have to experience these kinds of problems. Living in a vertical community does give you the perks of getting your roof checked for any leaks by the maintenance of your condo. At the same time, you would not have to worry about flooding as you are placed on higher ground in comparison to living in a horizontal community. However, it is important to note here that regardless of where you are living, it is always a must that you keep yourself updated on the daily weather news report in order for you to plan ahead in the coming days.

If ever you will be staying indoors in times like these, make sure you have an emergency kit and well-stocked food and water that will help you survive in the coming days. It is also important that you have a fully charged power bank, in case your phone’s battery is running low lastly, make sure you have enough load and/or mobile data for emergency communication.

Now that we address the elephant in the room, let’s move forward on what you can do during the rainy season while stuck in your condo unit.

Indoor Activities

Though, it might be pretty boring to some (especially to an outdoor person), if you are stuck in your unit the whole day of raining. So here are a few activities that might help you survive the boredom for all condo residents.

Have a Movie Marathon

If you’ve been so occupied with a lot of responsibilities that you lack some time for your daily binge-watching. This rainy season might be the perfect excuse for you to watch movies or continue binge-watching or re-watching your favorite Telenovela, K-Drama, TV series, or just a simple Harry Potter movie marathon.

Yes, you deserve it!

Cook & Bake

However, if you are someone who loves to cook or bake (whichever may be applicable to you), maybe this is the time for you to try out a new recipe or cook your all-time favorite dish. As the weather demands, it is the perfect timing to cook Arroz Caldo, Champorado, or just any soup.

Play Games

Next on the list is to play games, if you’re a gamer, then you are probably thinking of playing during your free time. However, with the crazy weather, you will never know if you’ll be disconnected in the game by the power shortage or just by a slow internet connection. And if that worst-case scenario happens, it is time to whip out your display board games in your unit and start playing them. How about a classic game of chess, anyone?

Maybe the kids play a little scavenger hunt game inside or host a tea party?

Read Books

Relax and take care of yourself, if you are a bibliophile or someone who loves to read books, maybe this is the time for you to start reading your newly bought books or those books that you bought months ago and said you would be reading the next time you have a free time, well, now is that time.

Or, you could start a little book club with your condo community.

Declutter

Lastly, if you feel like using this time to start cleaning the whole unit, then do it. You can also add to your list decluttering those stuff of yours that no longer bring you joy (Yes, The Marie Kondo Style). Knowing that living in a condo unit is all about saving space, you have to make sure that you surround and maximize your unit with only what’s valuable in your life.

At the same time, gather all those decluttered things, sell them, or donate them to those who really need them. Especially, during this rainy season, calamity is inevitable and your decluttered stuff would probably become a need to some.

However, if you have to go outside despite the crazy weather, make sure that you have an umbrella, poncho, raincoat, and rain boots to defend yourself from the rainfall. It is better safe than sorry in this day and age.

Going back to condo living, it is important to consider that when we look for a condominium property, it is ideal that it is located near establishments so that even on bad days like these, you do not have to travel far in order to meet your needs.

Luckily, there is a condo in Bacoor, The Meridian that has its own commercial block inside its vicinity. It is the only Vistaland Project that has this kind of perks and unit owners just have to cross the street from their building in order to buy their necessities. The Meridian is the perfect epitome of convenience.

The Meridian is a 5.8-hectare property which is the biggest mid-rise condominium in Bacoor. It currently offers ready-for occupancy 1 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom Units.

It also has resort-inspired amenities, such as 2 two-story grand clubhouse, outdoor pool, pool deck, and lush pocket gardens. The unit owners enjoy the abundance of the 70% open space of the property.

Here in Meridian, we are anchored at the center, connecting life.
