5 Destinations in the World You’ve Never Thought of Visiting
by Crown Asia
All April and May, you’ve probably been visiting sites all over the globe. Took a selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, or walked the length of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, or paddled your way to the Underground River in Puerto Princesa. But come on, everyone knows those places already.
What about the other amazing places no one’s even heard of? I’m sure there are tons out there. Check out this list of breathtaking places in the world you never thought of visiting outside of your house and lot in Bacoor Cavite.
Thames Town (Shanghai, China)
The English name for the Songjiang District, Thames Town is China’s little piece of London right in Shanghai. It features the famous red telephone boxes, English-style houses, cobblestone streets, and an atmosphere that can make you feel like you’re in two continents at once.
Crooked Forest (West Pomerania, Poland)
You might be thinking: A forest? Really? But before you can dismiss the Crooked Forest in Poland, check out these photos to see how “crooked” that way of thinking is.
Planted in around 1930, the forest bears over 400 oddly but stunningly shaped pines to make one of the most unique—if not the most unique—forest in the world. Who knows, you might find a secret entrance to Narnia or Hogwarts close by. Seems like exactly the place you could get lost in fantastical adventure.
Hitachi Seaside Park (Ibaraki, Japan)
Giving the tulips in the Netherlands a run for their money is the 470-acre reserve that is Hitachi Seaside Park. All year round, exquisite flowers blossom with explosive colors. Most sought after here is the burning bush plant that makes the park look like it’s come right out of Dr. Seuss’s stories.
Namaqualand (Namibia, South Africa)
For most of the year, the Namaqualand is a barren region that lends way to majestic orange desert sand. While that doesn’t sound too exciting, come Spring and the magnificent blossoming of flowers, mostly daisies, comes around and gives way to this to-die-for landscape view:
Hinatuan Enchanted River (Surigao del Sur, Philippines)
Maybe you have thought about visiting this enchanting place or maybe you haven’t. However whether or not you’ve thought about it, you should definitely pay a visit. Believed to be protected by supernatural beings, the Hinatuan Enchanted River has got to be one of the most beautiful sites in one of the most beautiful countries (of course) in the world, the Philippines. I mean, could you really look at these colors and not believe it’s the home of the supernatural?
